The maker behind Marlmount

Meet Paul.

A patient pair of hands, and a genuine interest in the story behind every piece.

Marlmount Woodcrafts is Paul's small, owner-led workshop in Blackrock, Co. Louth. When you get in touch, it is Paul you speak to — and Paul who sees the piece through from the first idea to the final finish.

From the Gardaí to the workbench

A different kind of service. The same care.

Before Marlmount Woodcrafts, Paul spent more than 35 years in An Garda Síochána, including senior leadership roles.

Retirement brought a very different kind of working day, but the qualities stayed with him: patience, precision, listening carefully, and taking responsibility for the finished result.

Now those qualities go into his woodwork — personalised plaques, gifts, commissioned pieces and work for homes and businesses.

“Crafted with care, made to last.”

01

Why woodwork

Good timber, careful design and a well-made finish. Whether it is a gift, a commission or a piece for a business, it should be made properly.

02

How I work

We begin with a conversation. I listen, prepare the design and make sure the important details feel right before anything is made.

Here in Blackrock

The coast, the village and the people of Co. Louth are part of Marlmount. Local places often find their way into the work.

Have a story in mind?

Tell Paul who or what the piece is for. A rough idea is more than enough to begin.
